How we improve the PPSR
The Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA) employs an agile release management cycle to enhance and fix defects in the PPSR. Production releases generally occur quarterly, but may vary depending on the scope of the release.
Prioritisation of enhancements and defect remedy is determined by AFSA in consultation with industry, PPS Operations and Stakeholder forum members.
Industry integration period
Major releases are deployed into Discovery prior to Production. The new release is made available at least two weeks prior to Production release to enable clients to familiarise themselves with the new functionality.
If you find functionality or performance issues in Discovery complete the PPSR incident report form and email it to enquiries@ppsr.gov.au.
Industry feedback
Industry is encouraged to provide feedback on the RMC and PPSR through their peak bodies or by email directly to AFSA.

B2G Web Services Description Language (WSDL)
If a release requires changes to the B2G WSDL, associated documentation will be made available. In addition, an extended Industry Integration Period will be provided to allow adequate build and testing of B2G solutions.

R8.9 delivers changes for PPSR Web UI Clients and B2G clients.
This release will not result in a change to the B2G Web Services Description Language (WSDL).

R8.5a delivers changes for PPSR Web UI Clients and B2G clients.
IMPORTANT: This release will result in updates to the B2G specification described below.
It will not result in a change to the B2G Web Services Description Language (WSDL).
Information about the 2022 WSDL update:
This release includes removal of vehicle safety recall information from VIN searches and registrations, including Takata airbag recall information.
For those using the latest version of the WSDL a new message will be added (MSG 50036) in the PPSR response message:
“The absence of recall data in the response does not indicate that the vehicle is not recalled – the recall information is not available in this version of the application.”
This means that you cannot state that a vehicle is not recorded as recalled.
PPSR search certificates retrieved through your B2G will no longer include any reference to vehicle safety recall.
A new version of the interface specification has been added to the technical resources page with the response message details.
Information about whether a vehicle is debt-free, recorded written-off or recorded stolen is not impacted.
