Transfer your registrations

The PPSR gives you the ability to easily transfer your registrations to another secured party. You may need to do this if you’ve sold or assigned your security interest to another secured party, for example if you have:

• on-sold your secured debts to a collection agency
• sold your business to another secured party resulting in the business identifier (such as ABN, ACN, etc) changing.

There are two ways you can transfer PPSR registrations:

• Using your SPG details – this is the best way if you are transferring all or a large number of your registrations
• Using the registration details – this is the best way if you are transferring a single registration.

There’s no fee for transferring registrations.

Anyone can transfer a registration if they have the SPG number and access code or are the account user who created the registration. However, the number of registrations you're able to transfer at a time depends on your account user permissions:

• Default users can only transfer individual registrations using the registration details.
• Account administrators can also transfer all or some of a secured party group's registrations using the SPG details.

If you don't have sufficient permissions or if your organisation has customised user groups, talk to your account administrator.

Transfers using SPG details

Before you start, you'll need:

• your SPG number and access code
• the SPG number of the group you’re transferring the registration to.

Transfers using registration details

Before you start, you'll need:

• the registration number and the registration token*
• the SPG number of the group you’re transferring the registration to.

*The registration number and token were emailed to the SPG's address for service when you created the registration.

To transfer one or more registrations using your SPG details, log into your PPSR account, then:

1. Go to the Secured party groups tab and select Manage a secured party group.

2. Under Retrieve an existing secured party group, enter your SPG number and access code.

3. Select Retrieve group. The SPG details will display.

4. Go to the Group registrations tab.

5. Choose the registration(s) you want to transfer. You can select single, multiple (up to 3,000 at a time) or all registrations.
   Select individual registrations by clicking the box to the left of the registration details. You can also use the filter to find registrations.
   Be careful to only select the registrations you want to transfer.

6. Once you've chosen the registrations, select Transfer. The registrations you’ve chosen will display on a new screen.

7. Enter the details of the secured party group you would like to transfer the registrations to. Enter the secured party group number or select from your Account favourite list.

8. Select Retrieve group. It will display the details of the group you're transferring to. If it’s correct, select Next.

9. A Notification of Transfer message may appear asking if you want to be notified when the transfer has finished processing. Enter your email address if you'd like to receive this. Select Ok.

10. Review the transfer details and select Transfer if correct.

11. You'll now see Confirmation the registrations have been transferred successfully.

We'll send both the old and new secured parties the verification statements to their email address for service.

We'll also email the new secured party a new token for each of the registrations you have transferred.

To transfer a single registration using the registration details, log into your PPSR account, then:

1. Go to the Registrations tab and select Transfer a registration.

2. Under Retrieve the registration, enter either:

   • the registration number and registration token OR

   • the registration number and the SPG number and access code.

3. Select Retrieve. The registration details will display.

4. At the bottom of the page, enter the SPG number you’re transferring the registration to or select an SPG from your account favourites.

5. Select Retrieve group. The details of the SPG you’re transferring to will display. Select Next.

6. Review the transfer details and select Transfer if correct.

7. You'll now see Confirmation the registration has been transferred successfully.

We'll send both the old and new secured parties the verification statement to their email address for service.

We'll also email the new secured party a new token for the registration you have transferred.
