Managing B2G Mailbox addresses for a SPG using a B2G connection

Link a Secured Party Group (SPG) to your B2G mailbox or change SPG settings using your B2G connection.

Managing B2G Mailbox addresses for a SPG using a B2G connection

You can use your B2G connection to link a secured party group (SPG) to your B2G account or to update SPG settings.

This is done using the UpdateSecuredPartyGroup operation, as described in the B2G specifications and defined in the Web Services Description Language (WSDL). These documents are available on the B2G technical resources page.

Important: Making changes to the SPG can trigger a SPG address for service change affecting all registrations in the SPG. Consider testing in Discovery before making any changes using your B2G connection. Alternatively, consider making the amendments using the PPSR web user interface (WebUI) to reduce risk.

B2G mailbox as the address for service

You can add or remove a B2G account number from the address for service using the UpdateSecuredPartyGroup request. Any change using this request will trigger an address for service change event.

If you only need to update the B2G account number, and no other address details, we recommend making the change through the PPSR WebUI.

Additional notifications address details

The UpdatedAddressForService request includes:

  • a mandatory element AddressForService
  • an optional element AdditionalNotificationAddressDetails.

A change using this request can trigger an address for service change event.

To add or update an additional notification address without triggering an address for service change, you must:

  • Provide the UpdatedAddressForService element and set the MailingAddress element to null in the child AddressForService element
  • Omit or set all other elements to null in AddressForService element.

Setting them to anything else, including blanks, will trigger an address for service change.

Note: If your service does not support sending null attributes, we recommend you make this change using the PPSR WebUI.

More details on setting a B2G mailbox address for a SPG can be found at Receive SPG notifications to your B2G mailbox.

Details on how to use the PPSR’s web user interface to complete the update can be located at Managing B2G Mailbox addresses for a SPG using Web UI.
